neil-patrick-oscars-1215-580-1The much awaited award night of Hollywood came and went in a flash, leaving some greedy for gold while others savored their feat. The 87th Academy Awards were held on Sunday, 22nd February 2015, where the show was hosted by the acclaimed Neil Patrick Harris.

After all the anticipation there had been for the star-studded night in Hollywood, there was mass speculation as to who will win the award and in which category. In case you were quietly asleep at 6 am today and have missed the spectacular show, here is the entire list of winners:

Best Picture: Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance).

Best Actor: Eddie Redmayne for “The Theory of Everything.”

Best Actress: Julianne Moore for “Still Alice.”

Supporting Actor: J.K. Simmons for Whiplash

Supporting actress: Patricia Arquette for Boyhood

Directing: Alejandro G. Inarritu for “Birdman(The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance).”

Foreign Language Film: “Ida.”

Adapted Screenplay: Graham Moore for “The Imitation Game.”

The two awards that stood out for me were Eddie Redmayne as the Best Actor in Lead Role for “The Theory of Everything” where he plays the role of the legend, Stephen Hawking. To add to that, Interstellar won the Oscar for the Best Visual Effects. Now that is something isn’t it!
