The three-day Bridal Couture Week opened at the landmark Faletti’s Hotel with a line-up of over 20 designers, comprising established and a few emerging ones.
On the one hand, the event has come to define and highlight bridal trends for each consecutive season and is eagerly looked forward to by would-be brides planning their trousseau collections while on the other, it provides a creative output to bridal wear designers to showcase their creative wares on a credible platform created by the professional team at a private HUM TV channel…….Day one opened with Zahid Khan of the Kuki Concepts who showed his Parisa collection based on bridal traditions of the subcontinent and featured rosettes, tilla work, liberal use of Banarsi fabric and borders, gota, mukesh, net and lace.
Next up was Ali Xeeshan, presented by Q Mobile with his luxe bridal collection, titled Dastaan, inspired by the cinematic brilliance of the masterpiece that is Mughal-i-Azam and the character of Anarkali.
Next, the title sponsor, a cellular company, presented Fozia Hammad with Goal that was an ode to the City of Gardens, i.e. Lahore, and played on its reputation with her choice of showstoppers that included singer Humera Channa’s live performance, designer Saim Ali and host-actress Ayesha Sana, Fariha Pervaiz, Adnan Siddiqui and Mavia.
Teena Durrani brought forth full-on bling in a bouquet collection titled Perenia Progressive with Ayesha Omer as the showstopper in a shocking red tiered pleated skirt.
After the break, Maria B showed Rose Garden with European cuts and embroidery for the modern bride.Faraz Manan’s collections are inspired by architecture, interiors and cultures during his extensive travelling sprees.
